PRESENT FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION ON OUR PLANET: UMMO.
In an earlier report we pointed out to you the great failure suffered by our scientists when, without realizing the risk involved in forcing the natural laws of WAAM (UNIVERSE) excessively, we tried to reshape the structure of our brains according to carefully developed improved models.
Each of the cells of the encephalon had been analysed rigorously and carefully: the nervous structure of the brains belonging to people of very highly developed intelligence was known exactly, people genetically favoured to the point that their lives flowed along the channels of a deep spiritual peace and an enviable psychic balance.
In principle, then, it was enough to compare these encephalic masses with those of other people whose imperfect reflex mechanisms and deficiently structured nervous networks were amenable to further treatment, and to make use of the techniques already mentioned, for an OEMIIGIIA (PERFECT MAN: SUPERMAN) to emerge.
You, who will have at least an elementary notion of the primary concepts of Physics, know that a body can adopt various forms of equilibrium: A cone resting on its base is considered to be in a state of STABLE EQUILIBRIUM. If we tip it over so that it rests on its generatrix, we shall say that it is in NEUTRAL EQUILIBRIUM. With great patience, and sheltered from even the slightest vibrations or draughts, we could stand it on the table on the point of its vertex, so that its axis was PERFECTLY perpendicular. It would undoubtedly stand in a spectacular state of UNSTABLE EQUILIBRIUM. But a faint breath, an imperceptible vibration of the floor, would be enough for that pyramid or that cone to return to one of the more stable phases mentioned.
The simile is crude, for so simplistic a mechanical model cannot be compared with the complexity of a network of Krypton atoms. But it is enough to realize that man is born with his OEMBUUAW (Factor linking the Soul with the Body) perfectly balanced and stabilized (Although any later episode may alter this equilibrium). That artificial modification produced a profound alteration, to the point of fixing it in UNSTABLE equilibrium, subject to the danger of external disturbances that would neutralize it. Today we know that if the brains of those men had been reshaped to restructure them in their original state, those unfortunate people could have been saved.
We can therefore alter Nature up to certain limits. Beyond that Threshold, the harm caused by such transformation far outweighs the benefits that man can obtain from such mutations.
That Failure united the efforts of all the thinkers, theologians, Psychiatrists, neurophysiologists, specialists in Pedagogy (WE GIVE THESE DESIGNATIONS EQUIVALENT TO THE PROFESSIONS OF THE PLANET EARTH SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND US. ON UMMO SUCH SPECIALITIES ARE BROKEN DOWN FURTHER INTO HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT SPECIALISTS). A colossal effort was made to revise thoroughly the policy to be followed in the general Plan for the perfecting of Humanity, and the conclusion was reached that it was very dangerous to attempt a new effort aimed at perfecting man by acting mechanically on the encephalon and the rest of the nervous tissues. Perhaps the bases of the OEMBUUAW Network (KRYPTON ATOMS) could be further stabilized. But TO WHAT EXTENT? Might it not happen that, once new, spectacular and longer-lasting results had been achieved, future generations would suffer the dreadful consequences of the surgical approach? Would we not condemn the Humanity of the future to become a hallucinating mass of alienated beings wandering aimlessly through the dusty valleys of UMMO until their annihilation?
The prospect was too dreadful to play so recklessly with the somatic bases of Society.
And those balanced scientists turned their eyes to the immense reserves of man constituted just as WOA (GENERATOR or GOD) has determined.
A summary of their conclusions is what we offer you below:
There is not one but multiple complex causes why man does not feel happy on UMMO.
A first, simplistic, ordered classification of these causal reasons is:
The child is born with a neurocortical structure which, although in a large percentage of cases it proves insufficient and unbalanced, can be reformed in the first stages of childhood by ordering its reflex mechanisms so that they act in harmony with those of the other members who make up Society. (The imbalance at that time was evident).
As the members of Society remain without that basic education of their reflexes (not only conditioned ones), The individual maintains forms of behaviour that injure the basic rights of others. Man thus finds himself immersed in a vitiated Society that does not understand him and tortures him spiritually.
As a consequence of these tensions which the Social environment exerts against the individual, he defends himself unconsciously and consciously by creating a series of aggressive reflexes that vitiate his organism more and more, and, what IS MORE SERIOUS: OVER TIME THESE REFLEX MECHANISMS ARE TRANSMITTED BY HEREDITY TO THE CHILDREN.
We see, then, that Society would gradually become corrupted, trapped in a vicious circle, if other springs, such as the life-giving action of scientific research and religious ideas, did not counteract the destructive and REGRESSIVE action of such vitiated reflex mechanisms.
Observe, Men of the Earth, that this analysis was made at a time on UMMO when our Society was more advanced than yours in the Earth year 1966. The man of UMMO did not by any means feel happy, even though totalitarian governments had disappeared after the death of the young tyrant WIE 1 DAUGHTER of IE 456 in the UMMO year 1,368.11 of the 2nd Time. Even though the unified Religion of UMMO offered spiritual reserves still unknown to the men of EARTH, and the last difficulties arising from the just distribution of means and consumer goods, which in some cases had not been sufficient in earlier times to satisfy needs fully, were being overcome. That is, PRIVATE PROPERTY DID NOT EXIST AND HUNGER WAS UNKNOWN, although certain other less necessary goods were scarce.
The specialists in the various Spiritual and Scientific Branches were REALISTS: NO IMMEDIATE SOLUTION COULD BE EXPECTED FOR THE SOCIETY OF UMMO (still very disorganized, and with members badly formed since childhood). The prospect would be the same as the one that would face one of you if, after a nuclear war, he came back from the cave where he had been hiding and found a totally destroyed City. A city that housed millions of inhabitants, reduced to smoking rubble. As you walk among stumps of reinforced concrete, with charred splinters crunching under your feet, you, in your immense solitude, may think of rebuilding ALL that shapeless urban centre... but you soon realize how utopian your dream is. It would take many years to achieve it, even with the help of thousands of workers.
The Social Network was too damaged to try to repair it in a single generation. It was therefore necessary to give up obtaining the fruits immediately. We Men of UMMO hold in respectful veneration those ancestors of ours who, aware that they would still remain an imperfect Society, staked their lives and their effort so that our brothers of today might enjoy a more just social structure.
They renounced an easy, passing happiness, which could have been obtained easily by artificial means with less passing effects, such as those we have described to you, and undertook the grandiose task of Planning the education of the new generations.
Let us see what Policy was followed:
As there was no doubt that a new generation subjected to fusion with Society would end up being corrupted by it, approximately 30 per cent of the Continent was set apart on the Planet so that the first seed of a future society, free from contamination by its parents, might develop there. In the Year 5902 of the second Time, the gigantic Plan called IGIAAYUYISAA began to be put into practice. The whole educational Plan was worked out on the basis of the reform of Reflexes from the instant at which the UUYIE (GIRL) or UUGEE (MALE INFANT) was separated from its mother by instantaneous cauterization of the umbilical cord. After the educational period, spent OUTSIDE THE INFLUENCE OF AND CONTACT WITH THEIR PARENTS (Note that this was a necessary measure at that time, when parents were not yet, as they are today, trained to provide such education and formation to their children), those young people began their Social experience far from that other Society, with which they maintained contacts only for cultural exchange, and that through qualified persons.
STRUCTURE (AYUBAA) (NETWORK) OF THE EDUCATIONAL PLAN.
The pedagogical systems of the Planet Earth are in fact quite advanced in relation to the level of civilization you have reached on this Planet.
Nevertheless you appear disheartened by the poverty of the results obtained. A child is subjected to all kinds of disciplinary tests: he is educated in the best schools, his mind becoming steeped in the religious and social ideas prevailing in the environment. His early childhood may even have been channelled by means of didactic systems recognized as revolutionary in recent times, such as the Montessori system; he may enjoy the formative tutelage of good secondary school teachers, and then go on to University, where the best specialists give him a good humanistic education, or to a Polytechnic School (Special School: in Spain) where the individual assimilates Techniques that will qualify him at the level of Engineer to carry out work in the Field of Industry or research.
But unless you probe the personality of that man: holding a degree, haloed by a professional life rich in experience, and coated with a social varnish in which good manners, fluency of expression and encyclopaedic culture give him an undoubted air of distinction compared with the Social Standard around him, it is easy to see that at bottom You Men and Women of the Earth behave like real children, saturated with absurd reflexes, apparently inexplicable neurotic reactions, stereotyped and illogical mental schemes, and, what is worse: A GREAT NUMBER OF INHIBITING FACTORS THAT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO EVOLVE MENTALLY.
This last point is very serious: When most of you pass the age of twenty-five or twenty-eight, you have already formed an image of the Social World around you. You accept a political and religious ideology and, after seeking an explanation for a series of social facts and philosophical problems, you sink into an attitude of mental immobility, incapable of continuing to struggle to delve into the truth. Whether you are fascists or Marxists or Catholics or atheists, you shield yourselves against those other positions, inexplicable to you, and you are so stupid as to think of the adherents of those other ideologies “that they are in error because they are less intelligent than you”.
And in a paroxysm of naivety and lack of intellectual balance, when people of agile mind and choice intelligence free themselves from those INHIBITING FACTORS and move to another ideology as converts or new adherents, there is no lack of people to call them turncoats and accuse them, with that Spanish expression, of “changing jackets”, even though that individual, in evolving, has obtained no economic or social advantages, in which case the accusation would in some way be justified.
There is therefore a serious flaw in your pedagogical systems, which is reflected in the fact that even people of great intellectual formation remain slaves to sexual vices or other less important ones such as tobacco. That their norms of life are so insincere. That there is not the slightest crystallization in them of an authentic interest in and genuine concern for the terrible social injustice. With a shameful spiritual hardening towards the misfortunes of the people around us, with an inexplicable intolerance towards those who raise the progressive banners that postulate a more just Society. Which is reflected even in daily life when you are incapable even of selecting the most suitable foods, rich in calories, which are often also the cheapest.
You have perhaps listened to us overwhelmed and diminished by the torrent of accusations, and some of you may raise your eyes humbly towards us, begging for a little light. You seem to be saying to us:
And what can we do, immersed in a society that does not understand us? We have not received an authentic education from our Parents who in turn -through no fault of their own- were saturated with prejudices and imperfect educational ideas... If in all good faith we wish to begin our self-taught formation, now that we are adults, and we buy good books, we come up against new problems that plunge us into discouragement.
It is not just the high price of those manuals: It is the problem of choosing them. We see thousands of them in the shop windows: But which is the most suitable? If we turn to a specialist, he answers us with a series of vague generalities and incomprehensible concepts; If to a friend: generally recommending the only one he knows, which of course is not usually the best. If the treatise is mere popularization, it offers us a series of nebulous ideas and suggestions which, when it comes to putting them into practice, prove ineffective. If the Text is profound, we come up against a series of incomprehensible technical concepts that tempt us to close it before reaching the third page... And then So many points of view! What discrepancies between some authors and others...! Which of them will be right? A reaction of lassitude sets in, of giving up, of carrying on with life as it is without offering a resistance that you judge useless.
Thus arises the most dangerous of all INHIBITING ideas: “To wait for a SIMPLE AND EASY FORMULA to appear somewhere, or to be presented by some man of the earth, that will get us out of our lethargic state.”
We repeat that this idea is DESTRUCTIVE and EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. You yourselves have been able to observe how, when we offered you some guidance for the near future, some people among you showed themselves IMPATIENT, asking us to give them the immediate solution in a four-page report. Let those people consider that such a point of view reveals an absolute lack of intellectual brilliance. We do not wish to hurt such people, since such a lack of mental lucidity is not the consequence of any culpable act. But we do invite them to stop listening to us, since their brains are not prepared to assimilate these ideas. It is not necessary to subject them to a Test to corroborate this statement.
But do you not realize that a simple civil engineer who wishes to design and build an ordinary motorway must first know subjects as heterogeneous as the mathematical study of clothoids, granulometric analysis of gravels, determination of the Attenberg limits in clays, shear strength of Soils, chemical stabilization of pavements, the operation of machines such as sheepsfoot compactors and asphalt sprayers!!! And all of it set out in dozens of technical books and hundreds of monographs in several languages.
Now compare the simplicity of structure of a Road Pavement with a Television Transmitter!!! And now compare the simplicity of the latter with the terrible complexity of the millions of nerve circuits that make up A SINGLE PART OF THE HUMAN ENCEPHALON. Is it possible that you do not realize the enormity of the problem, to the point of frivolously asking us to tell you in two paragraphs how TO BE HAPPY?
