We wish to resume for you the report on the BIOGENETIC BASES of the WAAM (COSMOS) which we sent you on earlier dates. These are critical times for us, and we have neither been able to dictate to the typist the continuation of the text in hand nor can we guarantee you that we shall continue such dictation hereafter. Everything will depend on the instructions of our sister, to whom we, the members of this expedition sent to the Earth from the Planet UMMO, are subject.

We can give you the reason with reservations, since at the request of your brother Fernando Sesma Manzano we have decided, given that it involves no foreseeable risk, to send you a communication addressed to the members of that group.

We gave you this news months ago, and it is now confirmed by us unofficially. The arrival on this cold Star (EARTH) of three of our OAWOOLEEA UEUA OEEMM (LENTICULAR SPACESHIPS IN WHICH WE MAKE OUR JOURNEYS) is imminent (In the period between 30 May and 3 June),

The OAWIOOLEAIDAAA (Conversion of dimensions), that is, the “physical Arrival” of the three ships, will probably take place in the following countries:

BOLIVIA                      (ORURO area)

SPAIN                        (MADRID area)

BRAZIL                       (Near Santo Angelo)

The reasons for the choice of these regions have been set out in a triple note sent to three members of that group. Separately we are sending similar notes to the other groups of Earthmen in contact with us, and to six of our correspondents in England, France, the United States and Czechoslovakia. We earnestly beg you not to make the content of this report known to the Press until after the arrival. Any news picked up by us that this request had been disregarded would provoke a definitive breaking-off of contact with you. You must foresee the reasons, considering the serious disturbances you could cause us if the news is excessively disseminated. 

THE BIOGENETIC BASES OF THE WUAM (COSMOS).

We have pointed out to you that a factor we call BAAAYIODUU (In reality a chain of double KRYPTON atoms) has a double mission:

First:       It stores, since the Generation of the WAAM (COSMOS), within living beings a CODED INFORMATION of all the possible organic BEINGS integrated in it.

Second:      It captures information from the surrounding Ecological Environment: It compares this Information with the one mentioned above and, where appropriate, it can provoke a new mutation which will give rise to a new LIVING BEING (A living being that was already designed in the preceding code).

For laymen in the Biological sciences we shall choose an easily understandable simile. (Do not forget that these Reports are merely didactic: we do not claim to develop exhaustively subjects that are already implicit in the field of Biochemistry, of molecular Genetics and other strata of general Biology known to Earthmen. Moreover, an excessively technical development of our concepts is not possible for obvious reasons. We confine ourselves to a mere description.

Example: Suppose that in a country of this Earth, a very economically developed Country, a grandiose aircraft factory has been set up. The Financing of such an Enterprise has been carried out without limiting reserves or credits, which would hypothetically allow its top Management to develop programmes unattainable by, or forbidden to, other industrial Firms of smaller size.

The possession of such extraordinary means has driven the Directors or Technical executives of the Factory to generate an ambitious project. This unheard-of programme would consist in creating a Design Office provided with all the technical means within its reach. Thousands of wind Tunnels have been built, Metallography Laboratories occupying dozens of buildings, Information and documentation Offices with information channels connected to all the research centres of the Planet; Hundreds of thousands of Engineers, Physicists and specialists in Electronics have been coordinated to plan this Study (1).  

(1) It can be imagined that such a project is mere fiction.  It would never be possible to carry it out as exhaustively as we present it.

It is nothing less than a matter of drawing up the plans, provided with all the technical data for their construction, of ALL THE MODELS OF AIRCRAFT OR DEVICES CAPABLE OF MOVING WITHIN THE FLUID: AIR.

One need not be a technician to realize the magnitude of such a Project. It is impossible to calculate the number of billions of Models that would need to be designed (That is why we warned that this idea is a fiction we bring up for didactic purposes).

Once such plans had been designed for each need and set of aeronautical or air-navigation conditions, Computers would be responsible for storing this information in the smallest possible space. Nobody would think, for example, of storing so many millions of tons of paper in a normal Archive. One would resort, for example, to translating the images into a code and, by means of suitable transducers, storing the coded data on punched tape or magnetic tape, as is done on Earth, or in Titanium crystals, as we do on UMMO.

Continuing our fable, one day a flight is made with one of the most modern delta-wing models. A jet designed for ceilings of twelve kilometres in altitude. It has to travel over an enemy region in which missiles equipped with infrared radiation detectors detect the emission of such rays coming from the nozzles of the turbojets.

One aircraft after another is shot down. The survival of the Machine is in danger. The environment surrounding it is hostile to the "Species" (we would say in Biological language). The engineers travelling in the aircraft, meanwhile, do not waste their time. With their equipment they in turn detect the causes of the failure and encode the studies and data of the problem. They observe, for example, that the enemy rockets are equipped with parabolic screens inside their plastic nose cones. That these do not emit high-frequency waves, so that they cannot be equated with normal radar screens; they observe how the flight axes of such missiles are statistically oriented towards the tail of their own aircraft. They discover, in short, that these air-to-air projectiles are equipped with very sensitive bolometers.

It is necessary to provoke a mutation in the design of the Aircraft. But there is no time to design and test a new prototype.

It is now that the efficiency of the Great project crystallizes into a practical realization. It will be enough to consult the punched-tape archive to find which aircraft model can cope with the emergency of an attack. A prototype will soon be found which, while substantially keeping the characteristics of the previous one, has a protective crown around the nozzle that attenuates the radiation of the fateful infrared rays to the outside. The model is already designed. Building it is now much simpler.

We think you will easily understand the Simile. But naturally many questions arise. For example: How does WOA (GOD) solve the encoding of all the possible Philum (Living beings) that can occur in the Cosmos? (Let us not forget that of those billions of possible beings only an insignificant fraction lives on the Stars that are actually inhabited ). We try to answer this question in the attached Supplementary Report (1).

Although the number of compatible life forms is extremely high, we point out that we have verified that certain forms of life ARE NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL. For example, there is no basis for thinking that on other Stars of hypothetical habitability living beings have developed with different Biochemical patterns. For example, based on the Chemistry of Silicon, or on the Chemistry of Germanium.

Every biological form is necessarily linked to the CHEMISTRY of CARBON.

The approach is complex, and WOA has resolved this law by materializing it in a way that is not easy to explain in a few short paragraphs.

 In the first place, the Krypton atoms that form the BAAYIODUU contain the coded key of this law. In that series of eighty-six pairs of atoms (for each XAAXADOO (CHROMOSOME)) are encoded all the existing possibilities of ORGANIC BEINGS that can be realized in nature.

The extremely complex network or graph representing the stratigraphic and branched distribution of this Phylogeny can be represented graphically.

So that we can understand one another, we first outline the meaning of some symbols.

We call ONAUDOOXA XUU (It can be translated as “ARBORESCENCE”) a branched series of possible paths or “philum” that follow a mutation.

Each branch represents a XUU (PHILUM), an example or possible animal variety. The IBOZOODAO (NODES), such as these, represent the instants at which a mutation takes place. Each IBOZOO DAO implicitly comprises a possible number of MUTATIONS.

The symbol (  ) with a figure at the top represents the total No. of possible MUTATIONS (discovered to date). This formula is called BAAXIODIXAA IDUGOO.

Example   is to be interpreted as meaning that a variety of TERRESTRIAL ARTHROPOD (  ) can be transformed into () "progressive" or "regressive" varieties by means of as many mutations.

Note that this encoding has the character of a POTENTIAL: we are speaking of POSSIBILITIES. We shall see later that in reality, and on each PLANET, of all the mutations possible for each ONAUDOO XA XUU Arborescence, only one, two, eight, etc. actually take place.

We shall point out to you that some IBOZOO DAO (NODES) studied have revealed up to two hundred thousand possibilities of mutation, and it is suspected that the limit figure may reach, in some NODES, up to eighteen million possible MUTATIONS encoded in the KRYPTON atoms.

Let us choose a much more graphic example, using terrestrial animals, both present-day ones and ones that appeared at the end of the Palaeozoic (Permian) and the beginning of the Mesozoic (TRIASSIC), which will help you understand it.

Note that one of the branches (antediluvian reptiles) underwent a series of mutations () represented by this IBOZOO DAO, which gave rise to new phylogenetic branches, three of which are represented in the graph as “PTEROSAURS” “ARCHAEOSAURS” “ICHTHYOSAURS”.

Three or perhaps fifteen mutations occurred, but how many could have occurred? This apparently unanswerable question is answered for us by the BAAYIODUU, in one of its 86 pairs of KRYPTON atoms. The number of possibilities is usually high (of the order of (5•10⁴ < N < 18•10⁶).

To understand better the Phylogeny encoded in the BAAYIODUU, we shall represent in green the innumerable XUU (PHILUM or BRANCHES) that could occur on any star whose physical conditions made it suitable for the appearance of organic life, and in red the XUU (PHILUM or BRANCHES) that in reality occurred. Thus the phylogeny of our preceding example takes on this new representation.        

What form would the X Saurian, for example, have taken if that mutation had occurred? Why did that mutation not occur? Why did the thousands of mutations that would have adopted new forms of animal structure not occur?

These questions, at first considered naive, nevertheless have answers that we shall clarify in the following paragraphs.

But first we must provide an explanation that satisfies the interpretation of the “coded messages” enclosed in the BAAYIODUU.

Each change of an electron within one of the eight orbital subshells that exist in the KRYPTON atom encodes a XUU (or PHILUM). Let us see an example (Though bear in mind that representing electron positions spatially has only a didactic value).

Each of the four electron jumps (do not confuse these changes with the quantum jumps that take place between two energy levels of the atom) will represent as many possible branches. The morphology actually adopted by the animal, if a mutation were to occur, will be a function (in code) of the electronic positions of the electrons of the remaining Atoms of the BAAYIODUU.

(We repeat that in reality the number of possible "philum" is not exactly four but several million).

We see, then, that the BAAYIODUU encloses, "written in the form of a CODE", the whole phylogeny of the living beings possible in WAAM (COSMOS). This is of transcendental importance.

Using a simile more accessible to those not initiated in Biogenetics: Imagine a book that catalogued all the models of aircraft (not only those that were manufactured, but those that will be built and those that could have been and could be manufactured). Such a book would symbolize the function of the BAAYIODUU. The example is crude, since such a book would be a passive object, whereas our BAAYIODUU contained in the XAAXADOO (chromosomes) play an active role, as we are now going to study.

If we represent graphically the possible phylogeny of all the organic beings that can occur in the Cosmos, what form will it take?

First of all we must object that such an exact graphic representation is not possible, since the ONAUDO OXA XUU (ARBORESCENCES) to be represented number “trillions of trillions”. Expressed with an example: we can represent the topographical outline of a forest, even record its trees, but never get down to the detail of the innumerable branches and leaves within it.

The approximate form of such a Phylogeny would be this.

Our specialists have only managed to carry out studies concerning the XUU (PHILUM) represented in the yellow. As the possible ramifications (new species provoked by mutation) penetrate further into the centre, the immense complexity makes all research work impossible. Not even the use of XANMOO AYUBAA (computers) makes the work of analysis feasible. (The order of magnitude may be ¡ 10⁵²⁰ !

Note that in the first stages of evolution the number of possible XUU (BRANCHES) is very small; both on UMMO and on any planet the protozoan species are identical. An amoeba, a coccobacillus or a particular virus could be found on any Star, but as evolution advances and the physical conditions of the Planets differ from one another, the selection of possible XUU produces biological panoramas typical of each Star. The multicellular animals known on Earth are not likely to be generated on another inhabited planet, and vice versa.

Something analogous happens in the zone of convergence. The various XUU become oriented towards the goal of this PHYLOGENESIS, the OEMII or HUMAN BODY. This point of convergence () branches out again into thousands of possible XUU (HUMAN RACES).

The possible number of subspecies for man analysed by us amounts to 9 • 10⁶. Whether such races are generated on a planet or not depends, as we shall see later, on other factors.

Finally there appears a new IBOZOO DAO (NODE) which constitutes the definitive point of convergence. None of the known humanities has yet reached this goal. Once it is reached, man would continue a progressive advance in his encephalization and his mutual agglutination, but this constitutes a separate subject of study.

Between the NODES () and () millions of possible mutations go on provoking alterations (rarely regressive) in the somatic structure of the OEMII, especially affecting the neuroencephalon, whose continuous development is translated into new gifts in the range of human intellectual functions.

We have seen that each chromosome has a BAAYIO DUU unknown to you. Its function is not to carry the genes materialized in the deoxyribonucleic acid of the chromosome, but to control the viability of internal mutations which, without external radiological action, occur in the different species over time.

The Biologists of the Earth explain orthogenesis (that is, the progressive variation of species) by the hypothesis of natural selection, according to which the weaker species in their struggle against the environmental and organic milieu are eliminated; such a selective process would orient species towards progressive perfection on the basis of mutations.

This explanation suffers from simplism and does not withstand serious analysis, even without knowing of the existence of the BAAYIODUU (chain of encoding KRYPTON atoms).

Thousands of primitive species coexist with others that are much more evolved. Any biotype has a great variety of species irreconcilable with this naive principle.

Before answering the question of how a mutation that gives rise to a more evolved species occurs, let us look at the somatic mechanism of the IGOOA (GENE).
